Learning about cyber crime through social gamification

The Center for Identity has developed a web-based game titled “Beat the Thief” which allows students to adopt a character and share various types of information on a simulated social media platform. If the student shares information that is safe in public, they gain points, but if the student shares unsafe information, the “thief” gets ever closer before finally stealing their character’s personal identifying information. -“Beat the Thief Game”, Center for Identity, University of Texas at Austin
